Just got a new 2001 Savage and couldn't be happier. It's still winterized and not ready to ride, but neither am I -- don't even have my license yet.
After sitting on the beastie and not knowing moch about bikes, something puzzled me. If an automobile with a standard transmission is in gear, with the engine off and the clutch depressed, it will roll freely. I noticed woth my Savage in gear, engine off, clutch squeezed -- it will not roll, as if the clutch does not disengage.
Is something out of rig or this type of transmission require the engine to be running to become fully disengaged?
Could somebody please explain.

Jeff
